Oscar Style Notes

Oscar is one of the most anticipated award ceremony and event of the year. It's where the most prestigious, the best dressed and most popular stars of the film industry gather. While we don't have the dough in the bank to fund their million dollar outfits, it doesn't hurt to take some style notes from them to look like a million bucks! With spring and wedding season coming up in a couple months, it's a good time to start looking for that perfect dress.

Oscar Style Notes: Peplum // Navy // Natural Glamour // Spring Pastels

 PEPLUM

Red is definitely Jennifer Lawrence's color. Though she stumbled yet again as she arrived (it has become
her awards-show signature), her red Dior may well be her red-carpet best.

Julia Roberts wears Givenchy with a black lace inset.
Sandra Bullock

 My Pick:

NAVY IS THE NEW BLACK

Wearing Alexander McQueen, Sandra Bullock solidifies 2014 as her best year ever for red-carpet fashion, reportedly because of a new stylist.

Amy Adams turned up in a tuxedo-inspired Gucci Couture dress in sapphire blue.
Amy Adam

My Picks:

NATURAL GLAMOUR

Cate Blanchett

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt seemed to skirt E!'s red-carpet fashion police.

SPRING PASTELS

No shrinking violet, Kerry Washington stuns in lilac Jason Wu with gorgeous flowing hair and deep red lips.
Kerry Washington
Lupita Nyong'o

My Picks:

BCBG Amber Strapless Evening Gown

Oscar fashion is a hot topic, but what's even more important is the spirit of gratitude and inspiration coming from accomplished individuals that have come so far and have come across so many obstacles. This is not an easy career choice and there are lots that happen behind the screen than mets the eye. With politics aside, these are shining moments where we are reminded that we all have our own marks to make in this world. To quote Lupita, "everytime I look down at this golden statue, may it remind me and every ltitle child that no matter where you are from, your dreams are valid." Well said.
